1. Tell us about your role at VC Innovations – what do you actually do, and what’s the best part of it?
As Senior Client Success Manager at VC Innovations, I act as a strategic partner to our clients, ensuring the seamless execution of client campaigns and helping them maximise the impact of our events and marketing services. The best part is building long-term relationships and seeing our clients succeed!
2. What’s one unexpected skill (or completely random talent) you have that helps you at work?
It’s not entirely surprising, but I’ve noticed that many of the skills I develop while training for competitive rowing seamlessly translate into my professional life. Dedication, time management, and teamwork all play a crucial role in both arenas, helping me perform at my best.
3. Explain ‘What VC Innovations does?’ – in 15 words or less.
VC Innovations unites people, ideas, and tech through bold content and game-changing events.
4. If you could swap jobs with anyone in the company for a day, who would it be and why?
Emma Sharp, Senior Conference Producer for Future Identity – I find the content of our Future Identity portfolio really interesting and would love to learn more!
5. Would you describe yourself as an AI expert, dabbler, or Sceptic?
Definitely a dabbler! I love exploring AI’s potential, but I’m a long way from being an expert.
6. AI + Me: How do you use AI in your role?
I use AI for research, writing, and analysis. It helps me work smarter and more efficiently. I can’t lie; I also used it to help me finesse these answers!
7. Biggest win, biggest lesson, or funniest career fail – what’s something that’s shaped how you work today?
In my first role as an event assistant, one of my tasks was to fill goodie bags with sponsor leaflets and swag. I wildly underestimated how heavy the boxes full of these would be and ended up with a grumpy courier who couldn’t lift them. I had to make up some more boxes very quickly and divide the bags out, and luckily all was well in the end. It was quite funny in hindsight, but not at the time!
