1. Tell us about your role at VC Innovations – what do you actually do, and what’s the best part of it?
As a Marketing Assistant, my role is pretty straight forward: I support the marketing team and help make their work easier. If you are a speaker at one of our events, there is a good chance you have received an email from me with a marketing pack for your socials.
With good time management, once my main tasks are completed, I enjoy assisting other teams like Content and Client Success. The best part of my role is the variety and the ability to work across teams. It gives me a broader perspective rather than focusing on one repetitive task. On top of that, the VC Innovations team is a huge part of what makes this role so rewarding. Working with such a friendly and supportive group of people is something I truly appreciate.
2. What’s one unexpected skill (or completely random talent) you have that helps you at work?
Self-reflection. According to Forbes, only 15% of people are truly self-aware, which makes it a surprisingly rare skill. Yet, without it, progress stands still. Growth comes from understanding what works, what doesn’t, and what could be better. For me, self-reflection is second nature. At the end of each working day, I take time to reflect on my performance, not just to find areas for improvements but to build on my strengths. I like searching for areas for improvements or amplify my strength. I constantly question, refine, and push myself to find better solutions and bridge gaps in the system.
It also makes me highly aware of my surroundings. I pay close attention to how things work, how people interact, and where I can make a difference. It is not just a habit but a mindset that allows me to adapt, evolve, and contribute in a meaningful way.
3. Explain ‘What VC Innovations does?’ – in 15 words or less.
We bring fintech leaders together, creating game-changing opportunities to connect, showcase, and drive business forward.
4. If you could swap jobs with anyone in the company for a day, who would it be and why?
I would probably swap with someone from the Client Success team. Before joining VC Innovations, I had solid experience in sales, and while marketing is my dream career, I sometimes miss the direct communication and relationship-building that comes with working closely with clients. There is something exciting about understanding their needs and finding the best possible solution for them.
5. Would you describe yourself as an AI expert, dabbler, or Sceptic?
AI enthusiast. I have a strong interest in AI and appreciate how it makes life easier. While I am not an expert who has studied it in depth, I enjoy exploring its potential, testing its capabilities, and finding smart ways to integrate it into my work.
6. AI + Me: How do you use AI in your role?
ChatGPT is a great tool for brainstorming when used the right way. Whenever a spark of an idea lingers in the back of my mind, I like to challenge AI tools to better grasp its strengths and limitations. It’s not about getting instant answers but about shifting perspectives, questioning assumptions, and exploring ideas from different angles. Sometimes AI forces a fresh look at the bigger picture or reveals something unexpected.
7. Biggest win, biggest lesson, or funniest career fail – what’s something that’s shaped how you work today?
I am a non-linear thinker. This comes with great advantages, from limitless idea generation to creative problem-solving and approaching challenges from unexpected angles. At the same time, organisation and time management do not come naturally, yet they are essential for success in the corporate world.
Being highly aware of this, I have explored different ways to find balance between creativity and structure. Writing down tasks, planning my days more intentionally, and even tracking how long different tasks take has helped me understand my productivity better. Over time, I shifted from an ambitious mindset, where I thought I could do everything at once, to a more realistic approach, where I focus on what is actually achievable.
Beyond work, time management has become even more important as I jungle my personal projects, including my UK travel blog and my volunteer role as a Marketing Administrator at Fulham Palace. Learning to structure my time effectively has allowed me to keep up with multiple interests while staying productive and creative.
