- Tell us a bit about you and your role at VC Innovations?
I am the Director of Strategy and one of the Co-founders of VC Innovations. I work across many areas of the business and every moment (mostly) is a pleasure.
Interesting observation of Victor Cruz and I by a former colleague: ”Even when you two agree, it sounds like you are arguing.” I like to think of it as healthy debate and an exchange of ideas that has been a real catalyst for the growth of VC Innovations.
I am also known within VC Innovations for my endless typos some of which are so bad that they can’t be repeated in polite society. Thankfully a colleague will have proof-read this post.
I have been working in financial services and innovation for many years but am not yet jaded. Originally from NY but after nearly 25 years in the UK, I consider myself a lifer. I have four kids and a very needy three-legged dog who I am pretty sure would sabotage the end of lockdown if he could. My cat also features in many google hangouts.
2. We will start with the assumption that you love all aspects of your job but what is the best bit?
I love building new products and the communities around them. The always fascinating and never-ending process of learning that entails is seriously rewarding. Oh and a few times a year (in normal times) I get to think up quirky names for cocktails. I like that bit too.
Also, the team at VC Innovations really is the best out there and is great to work alongside. I say that without any expectation of someone buying me a coffee (cappuccino no sugar) or perhaps a large glass of wine (white) when we do return to the office.
3. How do you respond to the question ‘What does VC Innovation do?’ – in 15 words or less
We are a full-stack marketing services agency delivering extraordinary value across fintech/financial services and beyond.
4. What 3 words to VC Innov’ers repeat in their sleep?
Must. Deliver. Value
But on some nights:
Content, Community & Experiences
And on those restless nights:
Infrastructure, Activation & Experiences
VC Innov’ers always think in three pillars.
5. It’s Friday night (in normal times) – do you: Grab a bottle of wine and turn on Netflix, head straight to the gym or grab that new outfit and head out to with friends?
I know there are some of us (well really just one of us) who would like to add a fourth option of working until bedtime but Friday nights are precious.
Being the ambitious sort and throwing myself into the whole remote working experience, I now have time to do both options 2 and 3 on a Friday. Viva our hybrid future! Although I have to confess, I haven’t bought a new outfit in over a year. Bring on the post pandemic Roaring 2021’s…
